We have built an Application for the public where the public can donate Food that is about to be wasted and also household goods that are in good shape and condition to be used by homeless people around.
Step 1 – Created Custom Object for the Donor and Volunteer Registration
We have created the custom object in order to store the details of the donor and volunteer based on the location they are residing so that the volunteer can pick the food or other goods in the location they are residing
Step 2 – CMS – We have made effective use of the CMS in order to showcase
information to the public which are registering as Volunteers and who are willing to donate the items.
Step 3 – Advance Communities for Events – We have added a new feature of Events where we can create Various events and the public can register to those events which can be free and paid events as well which will be totally for social cause.
Step 4 – Donor pickup assignment to Volunteer – We have a build process where based on the donor location the pickup will be assigned to the volunteer residing in the same
location where donor is.
Step 5 – Future Plans – We have added an informative page where what we have plans for future are mentioned.
Step 6 – Implementation – We have leveraged the benefits of the Salesforce community, CMS, Knowledge Articles and Advance community for setting up the whole process.
We hope that maximum donors come ahead and all the waste of food and other useful goods are there. Let’s stop them and make it work in order to fulfill the hunger of the one who is in dire need of it along with goods they need to survive.
