The hackathon is open to both students (undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral) and professionals (engineers, veterinary researchers, data scientists, and agritech startup developers) across India. Cross-functional teams blending veterinary science and technology are strongly encouraged.

No — the startup pitch is a separate programme. Hackathon teams of 3–5 build a solution for one of the 12 problem statements during the online build period. The startup pitch is for existing startups, which apply as founders with the product they're already building. Use "Apply to pitch" in the Startup Pitch section, not the hackathon registration.

Each team must comprise between 3 and 5 members. Individual participation is not permitted, as the challenges demand multidisciplinary collaboration across domain knowledge, design, and software/hardware development.

Yes, registration for Hack4Pashudhan is completely free of charge. There are no fees to apply, register your team, or participate in the hackathon.

The hackathon starts on 3 October 2026 and teams build online until the submission deadline — 15 October 2026, 11:59 PM IST — when the PPT and GitHub code must be submitted. Judges evaluate submissions from 16 to 18 October, the top 10 teams are announced on 18 October, and the finalists pitch at the venue on 28 October 2026.

The build period is online, so teams can work from anywhere. The top 10 finalist teams pitch in person at the Post Graduate Institute of Veterinary, Jaipur, Rajasthan on 28 October 2026.
